Chances are pilots use one of two routes to build their work experience and flight time: military or regional airlines. In the present day, most pilots entering the regional airline industry use it as a stepping stone and do not envision themselves ending their career there. With that said though, pilots may spend many years at their airline before getting a call to interview at a major airline. We here at Professional Pilots of Tomorrow provide information on various avenues pilots can take to achieve their ultimate goal. We initially started off focusing on delivering information about regional airlines such as pay (and how it affects oneself), commuting, and movement of a company to allow pilots to make the best decision for their current situation. Many pilots from various backgrounds stepped up desiring to help and we quickly evolved to incorporate avenues outside the airlines, such as Corporate flying and Part-135 flying, to offer more information to pilots in the training and flight time building stages. Some pilots may already know people in certain airlines that will furnish that information. Professional Pilots of Tomorrow is geared toward providing an overall picture from current pilots that have had various experiences at different regional airlines. Through mentoring, each pilot will be allowed to ask questions to our panel of pilots without questioning if the information he/she is receiving is fully accurate.
