Recent technological development for ground-based remote sensing instruments provides high-quality profiles of atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind, aerosol, and cloud properties. What is still missing to exploit these data to the fullest? Efficient science and technology networking coordination & data and procedure harmonization. PROBE is a new initiative funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).
