Prestat was established in 1902 in London by Chocolatier extraordinaire Antoine Dufour, following his family's creation of th ... e chocolate truffle in Chambery, France, in 1895. Antoine saw an opportunity to bring his skills and creativity to London. Prestat became the chocolates of choice for London society and were famously sought after by stars such as Sarah Bernhardt in the 1910s, Sir John Gielgud and Dame Peggy Ashcroft in the 1950s, Tina Turner and Cher in the 1970s and a host of chocolate-loving stars to this day. Prestat truffles were the favourite chocolates of Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, who made them the centrepiece of his novel My Uncle Oswald. read more
