As such, the voters in each municipality annually vote on an operating budget and, from time to time, supplemental and capital programs. The Library District is its own independent authority and is governed by its legislation, applicable public law, and its by-laws. The Poughkeepsie Public Library District has vibrant libraries where people want to be.
