The Port of A Co ... ruña, located in the Northwest of Spain, is mainly a bulk port, specialised in operating hydrocarbons and energetic traffic. The port currently has a total traffic of around 12 million tons of liquid and dry bulk, and general cargo. Other traffics in which the Port of A Coruña stands out are fresh fishing and cruise traffic. The Port of A Coruña is the largest Spanish port in fresh fishing traffic and in recent years has experienced a notable increase in cruise traffic, surpassing 100 cruise calls and 140,000 passengers a year. The Port of A Coruña has two different ports: an Inner Port, placed in the city of A Coruña, and an Outer Port, placed in Punta Langosteira, 10 Km away from the city centre. Inner Port features:  Docks with 2,700 metres berthing line.  Docks up to 16.5 metres draft.  Land area 100 Ha. Outer Port features:  Docks with 900 metres berthing line.  Docks up to 22 metres draft and 24 metres draft at the jetties area.  Land area 180 Ha with works in progress up to 250 Ha. The execution and commissioning of the new Outer Port of A Coruña, has marked a new turning point in the development of our port. The development of the activity in the Outer Port, where operations are currently taking place, will not only allow us to extend our growth capacity, but also comply with the main mission that has driven this project: maritime safety and environmental excellence. After the commissioning of the new facilities in September 2012, our objective is now focused on the movement of operators to the Outer Port, and the commercialization of new spaces at the Outer Port. read more
