The Partners for Inclusion Group (PFI) is a not-for-profit Scottish based organisation. PFI is the overarching organisation, ... bringing together Partners, Just Connections, Linking Lives and dM2. It exists to: • Support people with learning and mental disabilities to live how they choose, whilst influencing and enhancing the opportunities available to all; • To share knowledge, experiences and learning with others. We believe everyone: • Is equal and different, with their own gifts • Has the ability to develop • Has needs and the right to support in keeping with their basic human rights • Has relationships that are valuable PFI's simple recipe that makes a real positive difference is to provide bespoke support to people in their own homes whether it be 24/7 or a few hours a week. Unlike some other services, we do not expect people to fit in to a pre-existing model of support. Our secret ingredient is that a person doesn't have to fit our service, we support them according to their preferences, personality and needs, within their own living arrangements. We started as a Project of Inclusion Glasgow, where the ethos was to support individuals to live the best life that they could, within their own homes, with their own dedicated team. Over the years we have gained a reputation for reliability, stickability and really listening to people, as we believe all behaviour is communication. We have developed approaches to providing truly person-centred support, often with people with a learning disability who have had a reputation for challenging services. Initially, PFI was the last choice when more traditional forms of care broke down. It has since built a reputation of sticking with people, through life’s ups and downs, helping them avoid going back to costly long stay institutions, often a long way from loved ones. Our ethos remains the same today, as it did in the beginning. The people we support are at the heart of what we do and they are our greatest teachers. read more
