Officially colour TV came to Victoria on March the 1st 1975. Thursday, 26th March 2015 was a historic day in the Club's history, with the Grand Opening of the Pakenham Racing Club's new racecourse - Racing.com Park. With a crowd over 4,000, including special guest - The Minister for Racing, The Hon. Martin Pakula MP who officially opening the racecourse. Everyone who attend the day got to truly experience history in the making. Located within an hour's drive of Melbourne on the city fringe, Pakenham provides a country atmosphere without the metropolitan price tag. The Pakenham Racing Club is a Country Victoria Racing Club which specialises in thoroughbred racing. Racing all year round, Pakenham has over 40 race meets per season, featuring a 2400 metre Turf track and a 2000 metre world-class Polytrack. The club also features a state-of-the-art Event Centre, with capacity up to 1000 people cocktail style and over 16000 people on course - with modern decor & floor to ceiling windows, the views are simply breathtaking. The Club also operates two 7-days-a-week hospitality and entertainment venues - the Cardinia Club & Club Officer.
