In partnership with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and JEMSE, Orocobre has built and is now operating the world’s first commercial, brine-based lithium operation constructed in approximately 20 years, with a Stage 1 design production rate of 17,500 tpa lithium carbonate for sale to industrial, technical and battery markets. Orocobre and has defined and is implementing the Stage 2 Expansion to more than double current lithium carbonate production capacity at Olaroz to 42,500 tpa. Orocobre and TTC are also well advanced with plans for the proposed 10,000 tpa Naraha Lithium Hydroxide Plant to be built in Japan.
