Orange Spirit Nation (officially "Orange Spirit Local Longhouse") is a non-profit father-daughter camping organization based ... in Irvine and Tustin, California. Formerly Orange Blossom North as part of the YMCA's Adventure Princess program, OSN is now part of the National Longhouse’s Native Sons and Daughters Program, carrying on the long legacy of dad & daughter outdoor fun that traces its roots all the way back to 1926. For fathers, this program gives them the opportunity to bond with their daughter(s) on many levels and build a loving relationship that will last a lifetime. Participation also means meeting and working with other great fathers and daughters in a truly unique and fulfilling experience. For daughters, this program gives the girls a wide circle of friends that often become more like a large family. The girls build self-esteem, develop a strong sense of identity and of personal accomplishment. Together, they see and do things that they otherwise might not have the opportunity to do, including camping, kayaking, hiking, swimming, archery, sledding, campfires, skits … and s’mores! The girls put on skits and sing songs, play games, and tell stories, too. Our program is made up of fathers and their daughters, typically ages 5-11, from Orange County, California. There are currently 8 tribes which are primarily divided by geographic regions of Orange County. read more
