Orange Community Education & Recreation, located on the Orange City Schools campus, was founded in 1973 at the joint request ... of the Orange Board of Education and the communities of Hunting Valley, Moreland Hills, Orange, Pepper Pike and Woodmere. Since that time, Orange Community Education & Recreation has become an integral part of the Orange City Schools and has emerged as the community cent for lifelong learning, recreation and much more! As one of the most comprehensive community education and recreation programs in the state of Ohio, the department has been recognized as a model community education program by the Ohio Department of Education. The department has also garnered national recognition for its quality and diversity of programs, for its professional operation and innovative management, and for its community involvement initiatives. Orange Community Education & Recreation offers classes, programs and activities for all ages including preschoolers, youth, teens, adults and senior adults. Program areas include Orange Early Childhood, Youth & Teen Enrichment, Stagecrafters Theatre, Youth & Adult Sports, Adult Education, Senior Adults, Aquatics and Special Events. Administrative offices are located in the Pepper Pike Learning Center. Programs and activities take place throughout the Orange Schools campus including Orange Senior Center. Outdoor Leisure Pool and the OHS Indoor Pool, Outdoor Walking Track, Trails and Fields, Outdoor Tennis Courts, and classrooms, activity rooms and gyms throughout the campus.
