OPS Sales Company, formerly known as Oilfield Pipe and Supply, Inc., was founded in 1982 in Dewey, Oklahoma. The organization ... began as a manufacturer, buyer, and seller of tubular steel products within the oil and gas industry. In 1986, OPS’ business model changed – moving out of oil and gas and into the non-prime structural steel market. After years of success and growth, OPS decided to pursue opportunities to expand operations. In 1992, to better service their customers on the east coast, OPS Sales Co. opened a facility in Glen Allen, Virginia – 15 miles from Richmond. This location was intended to specialize in rolled and welded pipe and midwelded mill pipe. Years later OPS purchased a yard in Birmingham, Alabama in 1999 to extend their reach into the southern portion of the United States as well as enhance their steel plate and coil segment. This was followed by the 2004 installation of a holding yard in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to better serve logistics for customers in that market area. Currently, OPS Sales Company has two sales offices in St. Louis, Missouri and Fort Lauderdale, Florida in addition to the four operational locations. The business is a private, family-owned entity in the midst of incorporating a 3rd generation of family members. read more
