OWIFA is the only existing intercollegiate football league in Canada and is organized and run by women’s football programs from Ontario universities. The association was created in 2017 to govern women's football, formerly known as powderpuff. During the 2019-2020 season, OWIFA consisted of 414 athletes and 79 coaches.
