The company was established in it's present form in 2005 but it's history can be traced back to the century before last, when the present Owners' forefathers purchased their first vessel. The Owners have had a significant presence in the crude oil tanker market for many years and draw much experience in the transportation of crude oil and its products. The owners established a strong relationship with the North Sea oil industry in the early 1970's. The first UK oil was brought ashore on a family tanker. From the mid 1970's until the late 1980's up to 5 tankers where on long term time charters up to any given time, trading in the North Sea, operating out of Argyll, Ekofisk and Thistle Fields. During the 1980's, the Owners expanded and established a good relationship with Brazil's state owned company, having as many as 7 tankers on long time charter to them. Since the 1980's, Owners focused more in the Middle East and Far East trades, placing a considerable portion of the fleet in these areas. NSL has been fixing ships to all major oil and dry Charterers and traders and have been trading in spot, period and COA markets. read more
