OUR MISSION New CITYzens is a global community, founded in 2011, whose goal is to bring creative tools and content to people ... so they can find local solutions to their city's challenges and launch their own initiative. How? By creating brigdes between citizens already in action all around the world and those who don't know how to start. OUR ACTIONS Concretely, we mobilize of worldwide community of contributors into 3 concrete actions: 1. We create an open database of initiatives thanks to our spotters who detect the most inspiring citizen urban projects all around the world 2. We produce video content about some of these passionate citizens and their projects thanks to a group of volunteered reporters 3. We organize events, activities and workshops on the ground with inhabitants to act locally and replicate cool projects in cities OUR COMMUNITY They are city-dwellers from cities all around the world and they believe in New CITYzens' DNA : enthusiasm, creativity and action. Locally in their own town, they contribute by spreading the word, creating local teams and organizing events to gather people and make them do something concrete for their city. OUR PLATFORM To connect all the positive city makers and ease the cooperation among our volunteers, we created a collaborative platform (www.newcityzens.com). In one place, we now share an overview of the latest local solutions that positively change cities (urban agriculture, participative housing, recycling, urban art...), but also advice / tools / tutorials, open to all, to organize collective actions and achieve always more local initiatives on the ground. read more
