With the acute demand to address the concerns of African-American Women in our community, the Metropolitan Saint Louis Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women was organized by Dr. Freda Witherspoon in 1984. The Metropolitan Saint Louis Chapter of NCBW has kept the vision of Dr. Witherspoon alive by providing education and resource to our community. We have awarded over $45,000 in college scholarships to deserving women, we continue to support and volunteer at the Crisis Nursery and provide mentoring to young girls in our Changed by Design program.
