OUR MISSION To lead in the creation of economic and intellectual wealth for African Americans. OUR ORIGIN The National Black MBA Association® (NBMBAA) was founded in 1970 at the University of Chicago, by a group of African American MBA students, faculty, advisors, and businessmen. The Kansas City Chapter began as a interest group in 1988 and received full chapter status in 1995. The chapter has twice been awarded "Chapter of the Year". WHAT WE DO Empower minority business professionals through a wide range of strategic business forces, including career and education programs, entrepreneurship, lifestyle, and leadership. With our core values at heart, empowering minority business professionals is an ongoing journey for NBMBAA – one that we value. We are committed to making a sustainable and impactful difference in the communities in which we empower, work, and serve. The Kansas City chapter is a 501(c)3 providing over $50,000 in scholarships, support for our Leaders of Tomorrow program (targeted at high school students), and has held entrepreneurial & career expositions throughout our existence.
