About Mydibel (www.mydibel.be) Mydibel is a family business specializing since 1988 in the development, production and commer ... cialization of potato products: including fresh (fries), frozen (fries and puree specialities) and dehydrated (flakes and granules) products. It processes daily approximately 3,000 tons of potatoes and sells about 267.000 tons of finished products per year. Mydibel offers quality products with quality services, both in their own branding and in private label supplying companies from a variety of customer segments: food service, retail and industry. The 100% family-owned business employs more than 500 people and exports its wide range of potato products to more than 110 countries worldwide. The story of a dream From a very young age, Roger Mylle had a passion for the world’s most popular tuber: the potato. That passion was nourished by his parents, farmers in heart and soul. Roger specialized later on in the potato trade. It was his dream to launch a finished potato product someday. Roger bundled his 30 years of experience and his desire for adventure, and he established Mydibel in 1988. Step by step, he transmitted his passion to his sons, Bruno and Carlo Mylle, and, when he retired in 2009, he handed the company to over his sons, under whose direction Mydibel grew into a dynamic family business, active in over 110 countries. Green Factory One of Mydibel’s priorities is to care for the environment, that's why the company installed the first biogas engine in 2006 to produce green energy. Biogas and digestate is generated through the fermentation of starchrich potato waste (e.g., peels and flakes). Biogas is converted into green energy, the digestate is centrifuged and lime added, creating a valuable agricultural fertiliser called Myfert. Thanks to these investments in the Green Factory, Mydibel is now 80% self-sufficient in electricity. But it keeps investing and will soon install new biogas engines to be 100% independent. read more
