From a small farm in Rose Hill, NC, the Murphy family established their roots in the business world by under promising and ov ... er delivering. Wendell Murphy Sr. and his father, Holmes Murphy, entered the business world together in 1962. Through hard work and a daily investment in the enterprise, they began to recognize opportunity. That entrepreneurial spirit would help other local farmers make more profitable use of their land and resources. Their new implementations helped to revolutionize the agribusiness, and in large part helped bring the industry to where it is today. Through the vision of Wendell Murphy Sr. and his two siblings, Harry “Pete” Murphy and Joyce Murphy Minchew, the Murphy family grew their family business into much more.
