The Master of Science (MSc) in Exploration and Applied Geophysics offered by the University of Pisa (2 years-long full-time) ... is a research-oriented program aiming to provide a deep understanding of the geophysical surveying techniques (electric, magnetic, radar, seismic, gravimetric) from data acquisition to data analysis and interpretation procedures. Students are free to select a list of courses allowing them to further specialize in a particular sub-field (computational, exploration, engineering, or environmental geophysics). By attending our MSc program the students acquire a set of geophysical skills highly requested in different fields such as exploration and production of energy and mineral resources, investigation for engineering and environment preservation, and archaeological research to cite a few. The MSc is open to all students with a bachelor's degree in Geosciences, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, and Environmental Sciences or any other equivalent or superior foreign academic qualification. Admission to the MSc is subject to a test aimed to evaluate the candidate’s skills, motivations and to verify that the necessary requirements to attend the course are satisfied.
