It began in 1919, the last home founded in the US by Mother Mary Teresa of St. Joseph, founder of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus. For 82 years, the St. Joseph's home-widely known as the Carmelite Home-was operated by Sisters who lived the word and spirit of Mother Mary Teresa. We cherish the caring reputation of those Sisters, and we are proud of their past as they have inspired us to build and re-create something wonderful: to carry on their mission. Mount Carmel Senior Living, LLC was formed in 2003 to purchase the Carmelite Home. The principals involved are Vicki Sheehan, Andy Spann and Chris Brown.
