The Modulo system is a split-level system with a number of advantages: separation of residents and heavy traffic, better recycling rates, safe for both residents and staff etc. The Modulo system is a patented modular system which means we construct such a site out of modular prefab concrete elements. This allows for short construction times (a lot less nuisance for residents because of closure of the constructed site), the possibility to change, expand or even relocate a Modulo platform. Prefab concrete allows also for much better concrete quality: the design lifetime is therefore 50 years! The space under the platform can be used for storage, offices, re-use shops etc. This results in savings connected to the costs of alternative buildings for these applications. The Modulo elements do not need subsurface foundations. They can even be placed on tarmac. This also results in significant savings. Since a few years, Modulo is active in the UK as well and since then we have constructed sites in Rhondda, Southwark, Cardiff and our most recent project in Bristol.
