Our vision is to continue to work in the open and experimental spirit for which Moderna Museet has always been known. The presence of the art and the artists is our key concern, along with our dialogue with an actively participating audience. The collection includes key works by Marcel Duchamp, Louise Bourgeois, Pablo Picasso, Meret Oppenheim, Salvador Dalí, Eva Hesse and others, along with more recent works by contemporary artists such as Karin Mamma Andersson, Yinka Shonibare, Paul McCarthy, Annika von Hausswolff and Sirous Namazi. In addition to making the collection accessible to the public, Moderna Museet organize several temporary exhibitions each year and holds learning activities and events. Moderna Museet today is present in two cities, Stockholm and Malmö. Moderna Museet was founded in 1958 and is located on the island of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm.
