MicroGREEN™ (MicroGREEN Polymers, Inc.) is passionate about changing the way people use plastics. Our technology provides bra ... nd owners with cost-effective products that have industry-leading performance. Engineered with end-of-life recyclability in mind. This combination has the power to drive positive change in large markets while preserving our environment and generating a sound return for our shareholders. We make better products for a better world. Where did it all begin? Over 20 years ago, researchers at MIT discovered that if you put plastic under pressure and expose it to a gas, it will absorb that gas. An intrepid professor and his doctoral student at the University of Washington began using this discovery to expand plastics without melting them, thus reducing their densities in a controllable manner. Our founder, Krishna Nadella, was that PhD student. The next six years were spent bringing this academic finding to business reality. During this period, Krishna realized that applying this technology to the most recycled plastic (PET) would result in dramatic improvements in sustainability; from there MicroGREEN™ and the InCycle® brand was born. Why cups first? We chose to concentrate our efforts on the waste-producing disposable cup industry and the most recycled plastic in the world, PET. By doing this, we knew we could maximize our impact in the shortest amount of time. MicroGREEN has received numerous awards for the heat holding InCycle® cup line including the Gold for the 2014 Edison Green Awards and 1st place for Performance Innovation at the 2013 QSR-FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards. MicroGREEN is headquartered in Arlington, Washington and employees just over 100 full-time employees and is proud to be part of the resurgence of American manufacturing, using a technology developed in the United States. read more
