Our history began at MIT, along with 17 years developing power generation projects in emerging markets which add-up to more than 400 installed MW’s using various types of fuel. In 2008 a recurrent problem was detected: companies were facing fuel supply restrictions for their energy conversion needs. Fuel feedstock was not always close to where it was needed, which increased costs and usually would stop projects from being developed. That is how Mechero Energy began as a project to promote low-cost, reliable, fuel-supply solutions for power generation markets.
