One-year full-time Master Programme on Southeast European Studies entirely taught in English and run by the National & Kapodi ... strian University of Athens. Created in 1999 as part of the Royaumont Process, in its first years the Programme was supported by the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe. Among the Programme’s strong assets is its multinational and interdisciplinary character. At the end of the academic year 2014-2015, the Master’s Programme in Southeast European Studies completes its first 16 years with 421 students from 36 countries. Every year the Master’s Degree in Southeast European Studies receives up to twenty-five (25) graduate students. The Programme is primarily addressed to graduates with a first degree in the social sciences and humanities (politics, sociology, economics, social anthropology, political and social history, Balkan studies, journalism). Εligible to apply are graduates of Greek universities or foreign universities officially recognised by the Hellenic Republic. The Programme charges tuition fees of € 2,100 payable in three instalments. Students who are citizens of specified Southeast European countries (i.e. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo (under UNSC Resolution 1244) Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) and who are not in receipt of a scholarship from any other source may apply for a fees waiver. ACCREDITATION: Master of Arts (MA) in Southeast European Studies (75 ECTS Credits). SYLLABUS: The programme of studies includes coursework and research. Two semesters (Winter & Spring) of taught classes are followed by the research and writing of the postgraduate dissertation (from June to end of September). Students are required to select three courses each semester, making a total of six over the academic year. Each course counts for 10 ECTS.
