Thanks to his tireless job, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Villa Gemma became the first Montepulciano ever to be awarded Gambero Rosso Best Italian Wine in 2000, while in 2004 the company became Best Winery of the Year. With the acquisition in 2004 and long restoration of Castello di Semivicoli (www.castellodisemivicoli.it), an astonishing seventeenth century wine resort surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, Masciarelli hosts unique cultural experiences, as gastronomic, theatrical and musical shows, local cuisine courses, charity dinners and private events that allow guests from all over the world to enjoy the authentic Abruzzo slow life.
