The MLC meetings have convened annually since the program’s inception in 2011. The MLC meeting will bring together current and former MCHB trainees. The MCHB is part of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an operating division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of America's mothers, children, and families and vision is an America where all mothers, children, and families are thriving and reach their full potential. To put research into practice and policy, they take an integrative and transdisciplinary approach to investigate and address maternal and child health problems by supporting original research on the most pressing challenges facing American children and their families. Complementing this research, their investments in training supports the practicing MCH workforce and the next generation of MCH leaders. At this conference, current and former MCHB trainees from all disciplines will work together to enhance their leadership skills, network and develop professional connections. Are goal is to present new ways to collaborate and form new connections within the MCH network. We want to emphasis the importance of all disciplines while maintaining a family centered approach. In addition to presentations on leadership, there will be interactive activities and small groups. During the conference, selected participants will be give short presentations on MCH-related topics and participate in panel discussions. read more
