The history of Macnil begins through the meeting between an electronic engineer specialized in telecommunications (MAC, Maria ... rita Costanza) and a computer scientist (NIL, Nicola Lavenuta), determined to use their expertise and know-how to create a technological centre in Southern Italy through the union of companies specialized in their own field, in order to provide highly qualified products and services on the national and international market. Their mission has always been to create a IoT Research Project in the Automotive, SmartCity, Health and Electric Mobility Sectors within a mainly agricultural area to attract and keep all those youngsters forced to emigrate for lack of attractive offers in Southern Italy. They started developing global technologies in the texting world (SMS) and in the Automotive Sector (Satellite Tracking and Fleet Management), by establishing important partnerships with Telecom Italia, Poste Italiane, Politecnico di Bari and Università degli Studi di Bari. During their business development throughout Italy, in 2014 the company caught the interest of the First Italian IT Group, Zucchetti (Lodi), interested in investing in IoT. A great opportunity to accelerate the path of business growth came from Zucchetti, so much so that in 2016 Macnil acquired 100 % of GTALARM in Varese, a historic brand in the world of car and home alarms. It works in Italy and Abroad, manages 50.000 private customers and 5.000 companies, has 15 distributors all over Europe. Its partners also include car manufacturers such as Ford, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault Iberia, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda and Insurance Companies.
