The Department of Pathology is composed of an outstanding faculty of 28 faculty members, 12 residents, 3 fellows, and almost ... 200 administrative and laboratory staff. We provide diagnostic services to patients within our hospital system and numerous patients regionally, nationally and internationally via our ever expanding Pathology Outreach Services program. Furthermore, our Pathology Research Division is one of the best grant funded faculty divisions in our institution and is widely recognized for their contributions to science in the goal of continuous improvement of quality patient care both diagnostically and therapeutically. Our Anatomic Pathology Division and Clinical Pathology Division technical and administrative personnel are not only knowledgeable but highly experienced in their area of expertise and embrace a team approach to quality care, education, and research. Our Pathology Education and Training Programs consist of both residency and fellowship programs which excel in producing outstanding pathologists. We are proud to provide expert, experienced mentoring in general Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in several specific fields such as Cytopathology, Surgical Pathology, and Nephropathology. Trainees and faculty present at major national and international meetings with their presentations frequently winning awards and recognition. Many of our clinical faculty members are leaders in their fields and enjoy national and international reputations. They participate in key national committees and serve in leadership roles in major national and international medical societies. They are truly engaged in the advancement of medical knowledge.
