RACQ LifeFlight Rescue also operates an advanced fleet of fixed-wing Air Ambulance jets, to help patients in need of urgent medical care right throughout Australia and around the world. The rescue and retrieval service is bolstered by LifeFlight’s seamlessly coordinated suite of aviation and medical capabilities. LifeFlight’s Retrieval Medicine, Training Academy, Coordination Centre, Air Ambulance Repatriation and Engineering and Maintenance capabilities are integral to LifeFlight’s success in providing aeromedical services at home and internationally. The organisation is home to a globally recognised training academy that provides thousands of aviation and medical professionals with world-class training annually. LifeFlight was selected by Queensland’s Oil and Gas Industry as its only aeromedical provider overseeing the safety of its workers. As part of this partnership, the LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service operates aeromedical retrieval services from its bases in Toowoomba and Roma. More than 150 doctors are employed under LifeFlight's Retrieval Medicine division. Through a partnership with the Queensland Government, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctors operate on board majority of the aeromedical retrieval services within Queensland to provide critical care to patients across the state.
