LEAKman is a unique partnership initiated to demonstrate Danish solutions for limiting losses from drinking water systems and ... pave the way for new technology. The LEAKman concept has been developed by an association of nine Danish partners representing technology providers, consultants, water utilities and the Technical University of Denmark. Partners: AVK, DTU, Grundfos, HOFOR, Kamstrup, Leif Koch, NIRAS, Novafos & Schneider Electric. For decades, each of the LEAKman partners has delivered solutions and ideas within their specific field of expertise. The unique thing about LEAKman is that we have integrated our systems and services and work as one entity to deliver a single holistic solution to manage and minimize Non-Revenue Water levels. The LEAKman project intends to establish guidelines for selecting the proper tools and techniques to be implemented at water utilities world-wide in order to reduce the NRW level to a specific target level. It will include several vital aspects such as economic analysis of the return of investment (economic level of leakage), selecting appropriate KPIs for targets and monitoring of effect of different leakage management solutions and the implementation of interfaces between the systems. Leakage levels in Danish drinking water networks are among the lowest worldwide, with an average loss below 10 percent. The relatively small amount of water lost in Denmark is primarily a result of a long-term effort of establishing strategic rehabilitation processes, good craftsmanship and accurate measurements of production and demand consumptions and continuous strive to include new technology to further optimize the existing systems.
