The "Laboratoire d'Excellence" MiChem gathers 13 research laboratories in molecular chemistry, physical chemistry and theoret ... ical chemistry : it integrates the skills of each laboratory into a unique approach. MiChem therefore aims at going beyond disciplinary boarders to tackle scientific frontiers with different but complementary means. This merging of physical, molecular and theoretical skills and perspectives will offer new synergies, capable of dealing with biatomic molecules and nano-objects in the same manner. Labex's aims are to observe, to understand and to predict the reactivity of objects from nanometric scale up to the macroscopic scale, then to synthesize new molecular structures with controlled properties by organizing and by analyzing them according to the " bottom-up " approache. MiChem develops new methods of synthesis and attempts to achieve advanced instruments allowing to cross the borders of the technological obstacles in the application's fields like health, nanosciences, interstellar chemistry, environment and heritage preservation.
