It is rugged with almost unlimited cycling capability and a startup time of only seconds. It is lightweight with an energy density that can be more then 50 times greater than Li-Ion batteries. Previous generations of fuel cells use platinum which is more expensive then gold. By using nickel in a compact configuration the FMFC is more cost effective than previous fuel cells.
