National Audiovisual Institute (Kansallinen audiovisuaalinen instituutti or KAVI in Finnish) is a state institution under the ... authority of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. KAVI safeguards the Finnish audiovisual heritage for future generations by acquiring, restoring and preserving films, film related materials, television programmes and radio programmes. The institution conducts and supports research and strengthens knowledge of audiovisual culture. It seeks to promote media education, children's media skills and the development of safe media environment.
