Kappa Rho Delta is a locally founded sorority at CSU Channel Islands. Our mission is to inspire, motivate, and empower women ... to create an inclusive and diverse sisterhood. Our focus is to provide help to those who cannot help themselves through philanthropic efforts and promoting awareness. The history of Kappa Rho Delta is short and sweet. There are 7 founding mothers: Alexis Huerta, Brianna Pascua, Crystal Gordon, Daniela Fernandez, Katherine Crook, Melissa Stein, and Mikayla Marzano. The seven founders began with a belief: There should be more diverse options for the feminine identifying at CSU Channel Islands, and the group they were part of should be a safe, collaborative space to inspire, motivate, and empower them and those around them... What happened next on that bright Sunday morning of February 12, 2017, would come to be a story told for the future classes... If it wasn't magic, then it was something like fate that brought our sisterhood to become one of the fastest-growing organizations on the Channel Islands campus to date. and we've started to become something far greater than what our founders had ever dreamed. Kappa Rho Delta's early founders were women with kind hearts, fierce minds, and brave spirits. Kappa Rho Delta's first official class began with seven women and grew in their first year more than 5 times that with their first pledging class amounting to almost 40 women. This was a class full of women of vision, and today, the members of the sisterhood work hard to keep that collaborative vision alive in everything they do. Our founding mothers are a group of women who wanted to create a sisterhood that provided an inclusive and collaborative environment for those who joined. Within the first 2 weeks of deciding to create this sorority, the founding mothers put together all necessary pieces to become an official school organization at CI and within a month the sisters of Kappa Rho Delta were founded on February 12th, 2017. read more
