JLO is just one of more than 300 Junior Leagues across the United States and Canada that make up the Association of Junior Leagues International. The Olympia group began as a Junior Service League in 1987 and became a full-fledged Junior League by April 1993-- completing its membership requirements more quickly than any other AJLI league on record. What We Do Our Mission The Junior League of Olympia (JLO) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Our Vision: Women Leading Thurston County in Collaborative Community Change Focus area: The prevention of child abuse and neglect.
