Jean-Luc Azoulay was the producer of these programs and writer for the majority. In 1997, AB Groupe launched AB Sat, a satellite multi-channel television station and in 1999, the group divided into broadcasting and production activities. Jean-Luc Azoulay took over the production branch which became JLA Productions, focused on primetime serials and TV films ("Navarro", "L'Instit", "Quai n°1", "Sos 18", "Le Tuteur", "Camping Paradis") and prestigious dramas (such as "Les Liaisons Dangeureuses" - aka "Dangerous Liaisons", "Les Rois Maudits"). In only a few years, JLA Groupe became the third largest French producer of primetime programming.
