IMed (The Islamic Medical Society): a society which aspires to develop its members both spiritually and academically. We init ... iate our freshers' week with an array of events, ranging from treasure hunts to team sports. These jam-packed two-weeks culminate with the Freshers Dinner! IMed is pillared on the belief of helping those who are less privileged, so we dedicate a whole week to charity. This year's charity week included a quiz night, a trek up the mighty Mount Helvellyn and a Charity Dinner - which saw 500 attendees! We successfully raised £60,413.35 to open a bakery in Al-Hudaydah Yemen which will feed 200 malnourished families for a whole year. We understand medicine can be tough so we organised our first Access Day for sixth form students as well as our Raising Aspirations academic conference which aimed to allow medical students to realise their true potential. Our society also emphasises mental health and student well-being so this year we held our second mental health conference: Time-2-Act which focused on providing viable solutions to challenges our members may face. Our Believe and do good campaign in February aims to raise awareness of giving back to our communities and consists of blood drives, homeless drives and our… FRENZY bake sale.
