The International Center for Networked, Adaptive Production (ICNAP) was founded in 2019 out of a joint initiative by the gove ... rnment in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft with active support by German industry. The aim of that initiative was to build an open research platform and industrial test environment in which innovative approaches of digitalization in production could be developed and evaluated under realistic conditions.
