The largest and most forward thinking organizations across the globe would need timely information and topical news to guide them on this explosive and transformational journey. CEO's, COO, CFO's CIO's, and executives across sales, marketing, HR, finance, supply chain management, etc., could no longer rely on PC focused", infrastructure centric, internally looking trade publications to drive organizational change. New, cutting-edge publications, focused how the internet is, and would be, rapidly and dramatically, and fundamentally transforming business, was required. Inter@ctive Enteprises put this theory to the test - launching Inter@ctive Week in the fall of 1994. The market's positive reaction to the publication drove double digit circulation growth quarter after quarter, year after year. Increased demand for relevant news shifted the quarterly publication of Inter@ctive Week to monthly. As the internet grew, and new business practices were formed, so to did Inter@ctive Enterprises. January 1997 witnessed the launch of Sm@rt Reseller (later renamed Sm@rt Partner), and in 2000, seeing the explosive growth and need for internet news, Ziff Davis, Inter@ctive Enterprise's financial backers, purchased the controlling interest of the company and it's publications. Today, Inter@ctive Week and Sm@rt Partner live on in the editorial content of Ziff Davis's "eweek" publication. While Inter@ctive Enterprises and it's publications no longer grace the eyes of the world's topic executives, the theory that it was founded on has proven true - the internet will change the world.
