The Institute of Mine Seismology (IMS) is the largest independent research organisation focused on developing methodologies, ... technologies and services for monitoring and managing the seismic rock mass response to mining. The 45 staff of the IMS have qualifications that include 8 PhD, 10 MSc and 17 Bachelor degrees with a collective 300 years of experience in this field. IMS currently supports over 210 customers in 34 countries. There are over 60 active IMS seismic monitoring systems in Australia, 70 in South Africa and at least 80 in the rest of the world.
