The Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM) is one of the three research centers belonging to the Centro Naciona ... l de Microelectrónica (CNM) created in 1985 by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The staff of IMB-CNM is around 200 people, with researchers, technicians, administration and more than 40 Ph.D. fellows. The main activity is applied research and technology development in the fields of silicon-based micro and nano technologies, devices and systems. The R&D activities are mainly driven by competitive research projects funded through the EU Framework Programs and through the National R+D+i Plan funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. IMB-CNM has unique high-level scientific infrastructures and know-how available for the scientific and industrial communities in Spain and worldwide. The Institute hosts the Micro and Nanofabrication Clean Room of the IMB-CNM, a Unique Science and Technology Infraestructure (ICTS) housing a set of complete micro and nanotechnologies, and processes, capable of covering a very broad range of applications in different fields including, biomedical, environment, energy and mobility, security, communications and consumer electronics, etc. The SB-CNM is an open access facility that aims at helping national and international research groups to carry out R&D activities. Apart from the clean room, IMB-CNM might give you access/service/consultancy for the following equipment and laboratories: -Design & CAD Service -Reverse Engineering -Electronic/ microelectronic Engineering Service -Electronic Systems Prototyping -Integrated Circuit and Systems Test -Prototyping -Advanced Electronics Packaging and Bonding -SAM/SEM/AFM. Additional activities include industrial R+D+I contracts (technical and consulting services, technological and pre-industrial research, technology transfer, design and fabrication of prototypes and small series), postgraduate and industrial training. read more
