Innovative Housing Development Corporation, a nonprofit corporation, began its operations in 1980 managing St. Clair County’s ... first group home for mentally ill adults. We currently manage thirteen homes for individuals with a mental illness or developmental disability. All homes are located in St. Clair County. As an organization we have a strong belief in self-determination and self-sufficiency. As a result, we have created, and currently manage, over 100 independent living apartment units. These sites are for individuals with a developmental disability or mental illness and seniors. In managing these programs, we maintain a positive, ongoing relationship with various agencies including MSHDA, U.S. Dept. of H.U.D., St. Clair County Community Mental Health and Blue Water Area Transit.
