Our mission is to produce green energy form CO2 neutral resources – sustainable and safe. IJsbeer Energie is part of a Norwegian energy group, with green energy plants in Tromsø, Norway and Steenwijk, the Netherlands. Combined installed effect is 36 MW with green energy saving up to 90.000 ton CO2/year. The Dutch government advocates that (1) the EU translates it’s international commitment to achieve at least 40% greenhouse gas reduction in 2030 to a robust and effective legislative framework; and (2) Considers that it is essential to fully integrate a growing supply of renewable energy into the EU energy system. IJsbeer is proud to make a difference in reaching these goals by producing green energy from CO2 neutral biomass. Every hour we operate we reduce the carbon emissions somewhere else in the world, which we all live in. We try to operate as many hours as we can and as efficient as possible to reduce the carbon footprint we leave behind. The Steenwijk plant uses CO2 neutral biomass from nature reserves and forest maintenance. As the trees grow they take up CO2 from the atmosphere and produce O2. When the biomass is harvested or cut it release the CO2 back to the atmosphere and leave place for a new plant or tree to grow leaving it a CO2 neutral process. By using the biomass for energy we can replace fossil fuel. The incineration process in itself is clean and leaves no extra footprint. The benefits for the planet are real and instant.
