iGRAF is a powder / multiphase flow simulation software equipped with physical models developed by Associate Professor Mikio ... Sakai, University of Tokyo. Abilities: It is possible to perform simulations of powders with complex shapes and also complicated three-phase (powder, liquid and gas) flows that is still difficult to reproduce in the most advanced research fields. Since the preprocessor is SOLIDWORKS, design and analysis can be linked smoothly. Advantages: *Large-scale powder simulation on one workstation iGRAF is equipped with a DEM coarse-grained model that replaces small powder with large powder and multi-core parallel calculation technology for powder and fluid. These technologies enable simulations of 100 million particles on a single workstation. *Needless to create a rigid or fluid mesh Signed distance function (SDF) is used for wall modeling of powder. SDF can recognize a rigid body without using a mesh, and the user has to input the resolution of the rigid body. The Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) is used for wall modeling for fluids. IBM can calculate with a uniform orthogonal mesh, so there is no need to specify the size or shape of the mesh. All you have to do is enter the number of grids in each axis direction in the calculation area. *Streamline analysis work with a simple interface With iGRAF, analysis conditions can be set in SOLIDWORKS, and the flow of setting is simplified as much as possible, so designers can perform advanced powder simulations. The post processor uses the free software Paraview. Paraview allows to easily output the velocity distribution of powder particles, fluid velocity contours, and velocity vector diagrams.
