The public Vocational Training Institute (IEK) of Glyfada is housed in a modern building, built in 2000 and has 6 PC labs, 3 ... drawing rooms, physiotherapy, nursing and medical laboratories, construction and interior design work areas as well as 16 classrooms with a total capacity of 300 people. In addition, it features a multipurpose lounge for 500 people, separate backyards for recreation and sports activities, access to an indoor gym, access for the disabled, parking spaces and green areas. The IEK of Glyfada, with the mission of providing Initial Vocational Training, hosts specialties in the fields of Economics and Management, Health and Welfare, IT, Applied Arts and Food Sector and since its first day of operation in 1998, it has trained more than 4,000 trainees while for the current academic year it is hosting 400 students. The IEK pursuing the goals of its strategy, for the realization of its vision which is : by 2020 to be a top Public IEK providing high standard vocational education and training and to be a distinguished institution in our region, in Greece and on international scale, has so far participated, indirectly and directly, in many European programs - Leonardo da Vinci - Mobility, Erasmus +, study visits etc. At European level, the IEK of Glyfada also participated in the World Talent Competition held in Leipzig, Germany, in July 2013 where it received the first prize in graphic design. Finally, the IEK of Glyfada was honored by the Hellenic Center for Europass (EOPPEP) on December 10, 2015 being one of the 10 Public Vocational Training Institutes among the first 30 national organizations involved in a European Mobility program in 2015, which had the most completed mobility actions for this year. -- read more
