iChangeFIU is a social impact program that strengthens the capacity of students to develop innovative solutions to complex so ... cial problems. Our overall mission is to create a space where students can learn about social innovation and entrepreneurship, pitch an idea to address a need in our campus community to a panel of informed judges, receive mentorship during the process, and earn a chance to be awarded funding to kickstart those ideas. The program requires all participants to connect their ventures to one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The competition kicks off at the beginning of Spring semester with workshops for approved applicants. Finalists then participate in a local pitch day event in March and the top two teams move on to compete at the national level with the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge, representing FIU over the Summer months for the chance to earn funding. read more
