They are now contributing in the field of Research & Development of various National Research Centers and leading Multi-National Companies. (Members and Alumni). Professor Han's research interests are pioneering the development of CAD, STEP & Virtual Reality in this part of the world. Precisely, the vision of the Laboratory is to improve the quality and standard of CAD, STEP & Virtual Reality through the creative application of Science and Engineering & also contribute to the society by conducting sound and complete research in the respective fields. (more) Laboratory's major contributions towards these fields include Exchange of CAD Part Models Based on the Macro-Parametrics Approach, STEP Compliant Plant Product Model for Nuclear Plant, A Hybrid Driving Simulator with Dynamics-Driven Motion and Data-Driven Motion. STEP is the International standard for representation and exchange of product data. We are an active member in terms of registration of the international standards and are also leading STEP related activities in Korea. The facilities at iCAD laboratory include an Immersive Environment (CAVE) to assist research in the field of Virtual Reality, iCAVE room, which is equipped with an 8-channel screen, 6-DOF motion platform and other state-of-the-art VR systems.
