As a specialist for the production of radioactive pharmaceuticals, the IASON Company brought the method of positron-emission- ... tomography to Austria in 1997. Today, the IASON Group produce radioactive pharmaceuticals themselves and sell their specialized laboratory products for the target groups nuclear medicine and laboratory medicine in the whole of Europe. The most important PET radiopharmaceutical of the IASON Group, Efdege®, is produced at the production plants Linz, Klagenfurt and Rome during the night time. With the Authorization of IASOcholine® in April 2010 in France the Austrian company IASON has advanced to the very top among the producers of radiopharmaceuticals. In September 2010 the production site in Rome was opened. Next to IASOcholine® the IASON Group holds Marketing Authorizations for three further tracers: Efdege®, IASOflu® and IASOdopa®. The IASON research and production site in Linz, Austria continuously develops new radiopharmaceuticals. Every 2 years a new radiopharmaceutical is successfully being brought to Marketing Authorization. 2 new products will be submitted by the end of 2013, among which is also a EU-supported project named APOPET, where a patentable product for the precise planning of chemotherapy will be developed. The production sites of the IASON Group cannot only produce radiopharmaceuticals products under Marketing Authorization, but also provide a range of (currently) 10 radiopharmaceutical products which are used for clinical trials. read more
