Hurdle is a service there to help parents who are at risk of, or who have already suffered, the removal of children from thei ... r care. We aim to address the widespread issue of parents losing multiple children to the care system by focusing on prevention work. Who we help Hurdle works with men and women in a 30-mile radius of Coventry who are at risk of, or who have already suffered, the removal of one or more children from their care. This includes: • parents who have left or are soon to leave Dudley Lodge (or other Family Assessment Centre) with a child in their care. • pregnant, expecting mothers and fathers who have social services involvement. • parents who have suffered a recent loss of their child or children to the care system. What we do Hurdle offers free befriending, peer and mentoring support, in addition to providing supportive programmes, activities and projects. We are committed to working in partnership with families and individuals to help them overcome their obstacles and achieve a positive, healthy and empowered future.
